At the doorstep of Jotunheimen National Park
All-year basecamp for great mountain adventures

Beitostølen has been a popular basecamp for Norwegian mountain adventurers for decades, and that’s for a reason. The resort itself offers a great variety of activities and accommodations, and with its location close to the borders of Norway’s most popular national park, the wilderness is never far away – if you’re looking for the more remote mountain adventures.

Despite its wide range of activities and offers, the Beitostølen area still maintains its cozy small mountain town feel, with several cafés, restaurants and shops located within walking distance from all accommodations.

It all began in the 1960's

A family business

Beitostølen’s unique appeal and wonderfully laid-back atmosphere stem largely from the fact that it remains very much a family business. The founder, Steinar Hovi, built on his ski-guiding credentials back in the 1960's, at first offering equipment hire to visitors, then adding some simple accommodation not long after. From these humble beginnings, the small mountain village was born - and the journey towards what it has become today began.
